Moisturizing After Waxing
So what types of products do we recommend to use as your moisturiser?
It’s essential to use the more gentle OIL-BASED products, such as coconut oil and baby oil. This can help remove any wax residue left on the skin and will help to keep the skin supple ready for your next waxing session.
You can apply mild gels, such as aloe vera, to help soothe the skin as needed (I love this stuff, you need to try it).
Although you can use a shop brought product to moisturize, be sure to avoid any perfumed oils and creams. Unfortunately, your skin is sensitive and tender after waxing, so adding any type of fragrance based oils onto the skin could cause more redness and irritation.
As well as moisturizer help to get rid of your dry skin, you can also use it to soothe and protect the skin.
It would be useful to apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for at least a week after being waxed. This will help make sure your open pores won’t become infected after your waxing session.
We would recommend using E45 cream, this is a natural product with no fragrances, making sure you won’t cause any more irritation.
A few days after you have been waxed, you could simply try gently exfoliating your skin several times a week to remove dead skin which should help to prevent ingrown hairs.
Be sure to keep your skin hydrated and nourished by adding a moisturiser to your daily skincare routine (even when you haven’t been waxed).
